Excellent location

Stayed here two nights. Room was comfortable and clean. Centrally located and within walking distance to many attractions. Staff were friendly and tried to be helpful. Some spoke a little bit of English but not really enough to help with even the basics. Wi-Fi was free but a bit hit and miss but this was common everywhere we went in Iran. Breakfast was included. It was basic but filling. No coffee unfortunately only tea. Toilet was western style and there was always hot water for a shower, albeit water pressure was sometimes lacking. The price was reasonable for what we got and I would stay here again.

Expect the normal.

This hotel have basic accommodations, clean bathroom and a plain (and bored) breakfast. It’s not THAT well located, but within a short walk you can reach the Grand Bazaar. Friendly staff, although don’t expect for precise information, because most of them don’t speak a word in English. But at least, they will try to help you in their manners.

A SIMPLE HOTEL

location of hotel is very good because located in baqe golestan square and here is downtown and you can go to every where of sightseeing & attractions in a few minutes by walking same as Municipality Building, tabriz grand bazzar, golestan garden park and many of shopping centers in shahnaz crossroad.rooms are very simple and not bad.breakfast buffet is delicious & colorful.WiFi ia available in lobby.staff are friendly but the most of them can not speak English but they try very so much to help travellers.this hotel is a good choie for passengers who want stay here for 2 to 3 nights.

Acceptable but overpriced

When traveling on budget in Tabriz, you actually have 3 options: first is a ~10 usd room (double room) in a pretty much run-down guesthouses. Such room would be very basic, often dirty and small, resembling more a lazaretto then a real guesthouse. Bathroom/toilet would be shared, no English will be spoken and don't even bother to ask for WiFi or breakfast. Second option are ~16 usd rooms with wifi and en suite bathroom/toilet but the rooms will not be too clean and the hotel would remember its better years from 2 decades ago. And third option would be 25+ usd clean and relatively modern room with wifi & breakfast. We couldn't find any room in-between these options.Having said that, Morvarid is the cheapest from the third option and if you are lucky you may end up in a room which is actually modern. All rooms will be rather clean and fairly comfortable. Cleaning service is available daily. There's a fridge in every room.On the downside, wifi is not working in the room. The signal is available only in the lobby but the connection in general is far from reliable. Complimentary breakfast is a tiny portion and is actually more of a joke then a meal. Laundry is not available. First room which we got was old, run-down and structurally unclean but the second one was far better (so make sure you see at least two before deciding to stay). Both of them had squat toilets only. English speaking staff was available every second day.All in all, after visiting every centrally located hotel in Tabriz we decided to continue our stay in Morvarid as there was no better alternative in this price range but we are very clear that this hotel is just an acceptable option which is overpriced even for Iranian standards.

Hotel Morvarid is a simple hotel with simple rooms and simple facilities. It is oke for one or two nights, but when you want some luxury, you will not find it here. One receptionist spoke some English, but the other ones didn't.Breakfast was ok.

We spent 3 nights in the Morvarid Hotel in Tabriz. The hotel is central location near the Arg-e Tabriz. The room was clean and comfortable with private bathroom and Western style toilet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all a decent hotel at reasonable price.

Value for money hotel

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel. I found it in the Lonely Planet. We arrived by nightbus from Sanandaj and arrived very early in the morning. We could enter and were given a room immediately. So we could sleep some more hours. Very good, thanks! The breakfast was included, in a breakfast area in the basement. The breakfast was very simple, but we did not expect more. Breads, egg, tea and jams. We payed only 14 euro per night for our room, and the room was really comfortable and warm. The wifi was working excellent and fast!We took some tours from the desk, and we were not that satisfied, because the driver did not speak any english. We think if you sell tours, the driver should at least speak some languages like english, that is mandatory if you work with tourists.Staff were easy and very kind. We did not regret our stay here. Even though the building looks old and not very stylish from the outside, we still think it was good for us, compared to the price that we paid. It is on walking distance from the old town and the bazar.

Very helpfull, good location

You find yourself at 06.00 standing with your luggage in front of this hotel, the nightbus was way earlier in Tabriz than we expected. it was still dark outside. You have no reservation for this hotel and you feel a bit ashamed to wake the nightporter. But this hotel opened the door for us because they heard us talk outside, let us check in and gave us the key to our room, so we could sleep a little longer. Excellent!!The rooms are not big, but very clean and good beds and excellent shower. Good price/ Quality. Everybody complains about the breakfast, go to the streets and try the traditional filled breaks for less then 1€.......

Very good value for money

Nice and spacious rooms, western toilets, wifi (only in the corridor and lounge), breakfast included, nicely located. Staff is helpful and speaks some English. They can also help and book tours for you.

Overpriced. Much better deals down the main road

This was one of the recommended hotels in the Lonely Planet guidebook and the price has gone up a lot since the book was published (and mine was the latest version!) I paid about US$25 for a double room after some hard bargaining, which I thought was really overpriced. But after having run around to several other places listed in LP, I was the most comfortable with this inn as a solo female traveller. I had to take a double 'cos there weren't any singles left and I wanted a private bathroom.I met a Dutch couple later in the day at the Tabriz museum and they were stayed at a hotel near me for only US$8 with a private bathroom! I really felt ripped off and suggest you look for better options along the main road. If I am not wrong, their hotel was called Hannah Hotel or something like that (with some letters missing from its sign). The room was decent, the bathroom was also decent (there was hot water and a western toilet), but the tv wasn't that fantastic (small, poor reception), so don't expect too much.I find the location to be really good, as there were many eateries and some internet cafes within walkable distance. I could also easily get my long distance bus tickets from a little store just across the road. There is free breakfast and you can get them to take it to your room, but at a fee for the room service. I was asked if I wanted breakfast to be sent to my room on the first morning I was there and when I asked if it was free, the receptionist told me Yes! So I felt a little unfair when, at the end of my stay, I found out that I had to pay for room service. The receptionist said that breakfast at the hotel's restaurant was free, but to bring it to the room, there will be room service charged. I only found this out at the end and wondered if I should blame myself for not asking properly, or was I really misled by him saying that breakfast was free. Ah well, probably a miscommunication. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.I ever used the shared bathoom near the restaurant and the smell was beyond horrid. I was actually glad I didn't eat at the restaurant, because the smell would have killed my appetite and even more glad I had a private bathroom, so I didn't have to use that toilet. Honestly, you can't imagine it. I had to breathe through my mouth!Internet there is really expensive too, like 10x what you'd pay at the coffeenet. The receptionist doubles up as some kinda driver-guide and he took me to Kandovan the next day, though I can't remember how much I paid. However, I do remember the price to be fairly reasonable and within what I expected to pay. It is possible to get there more cheaply by a combination of bus and taxi, but I was there in an off-peak season, so I was worried there won't be many taxis around in the small town near Kandovan to take me there. Kandovan is a must-go! It's beautiful. I am sure the hotel can arrange for you, if you ask. In fact, if you can spare about US$112/night, be sure to stay a night or 2 at Laleh International Hotel at Kandovan. With underfloor heating, indoor jacuzzi, a room carved out of the fairy-like chimney rock, it's going to be a truly memorable experience! If I had not lost my wallet in Shiraz, I would have stayed there for a night for sure!!All in all, I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind paying. But in terms of value for budget travellers, it's better to find somewhere else.
