The Afzal House is a three-star mansion that is one of the historical sites remaining from the Qajar era in Shushtar city. It was designated as a national heritage site in April 2015 and showcases a blend of Iranian and Islamic architecture. The Afzal family, renowned for their trading activities in Shushtar and other cities in Khuzestan like Khorramshahr, had historical ties with Indian merchants. This mansion was once owned by the late Rejabali Afzal. The basement of the mansion is divided into two sections: Shabestan and Shavadan. Shabestan comprises 4 rooms, while Shavadan features 1 chamber-like room. The ground floor of the mansion includes 3 rooms and has access to a terrace via three short steps. Guests staying at this mansion can enjoy a unique and immersive experience within a traditional setting. Rejabali Afzal was the previous owner of this mansion, with Haji Hossein Fardinejad and Haji Hossein Mirmaraiyan overseeing its construction and restoration. The basement of the mansion contains Shabestan with 4 rooms and Shavadan with 1 chamber-like room. Additionally, the ground floor offers 3 rooms and leads to a terrace accessible through three steps. Architectural details include brickwork with both hidden and exposed bricks, as well as tilework on various facades.
